NPR’s World Cafe is having a music giveaway for the month of February: free downloads of music from recent World Cafe sessions, including last year’s live in-studio recording of John doing “Satan and St. Paul.”
2012 was a never-to-be-forgotten year for John and everyone around him. Here’s an abridged list of “Best of 2012” lists that mentioned John.

John recently taped an appearance for NPR’s World Cafe, that will air in most markets on Tuesday, Dec. 18. The show will run in most markets in its standard Tuesday time slot, but listeners are advised to consult their local listings for confirmation of the air date and time.
John appeared on “Around Noon” with Dee Perry on Cleveland’s WCPN radio last August. She recently cited that interview as one of her favorites of 2012, and it reminded us to share it with our friends! This is really a great show; go check out the webcam video of the interview on the Around Noon
For anyone who missed this weekend’s broadcast of “A Prairie Home Companion,” the show has been archived on the PHC website, and is available for listening via streaming audio. Also, Terry “Buffalo” Ware is really cool, but not nine feet tall.
Here’s the latest information on John’s appearance on “A Prairie Home Companion,” scheduled for this Saturday, Sept. 29. The show will also be posted to the PHC web archive on the Sunday afternoon following the live broadcast.
